Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity (URCA) Awards provide funds to support faculty–mentored research or creative projects undertaken by undergraduate students. Applications consist of a summary of the work to be completed, a budget, and a mentor recommendation form. Budgets can include funds to pay for supplies and materials to support the project, travel to the site of the project, and/or a stipend for the student. There are two deadlines per year, the last Friday in September and the last Friday in January. Examples of funded applications are available below. Reviews are carried out by discipline-specific faculty in four areas: 1) Biomedical Science 2) Science,Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) 3) Social Science, and Humanities/Arts. Applications are submitted and reviewed through a Qualtrics survey. For more information, see Instructions below.
