Summer Camps & Workshops
The summer months in the School of Music are full of week-long camps, multiple-day workshops, seminars, and other special events for all ages. Check out our summer programs below. We look forward to seeing you here this summer!
Violin, viola and cello students entering grade 6 through 2017 graduated high school senior. The Summer Chamber Music Institute at East Carolina University invites talented young musicians to experience chamber music at its best. Join us and build relationships that will enrich and empower your musical future this summer and beyond.
June 17-22, 2018. For Grades 6-12 band students: Participants in this resident summer program enjoy full concert band, small ensemble, and solo performance opportunities. Special coaching will be available in jazz performance techniques as well. Fun activities include Movie Night, use of the Student Rec Center pools and a dance with DJ.
Summer Jazz Camp will be in association with ECU Summer Band Camp.
June 21-30, 2017. The Summer Vocal Music Intensive opens its doors to all rising ninth-grade through twelfth-grade singers desiring the opportunity for great music-making, great friendship, and great fun. This nine-day camp will create a community of young singers who love choral music and desire to become better singers and musicians.
July 8 and 9, 2017 (Pre-Twinkle Day Camp), July 9 - 14, 2017 (Traditional Student Institute). The North Carolina Suzuki Institute provides an opportunity to study the philosophy and teaching of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki.
July 15-18, 2017. This workshop is open to students of all skill levels who wish to acquire or improve skills on the classical guitar. Students will have the opportunity to learn from an internationally-known faculty as well as hear them perform in public recital.
June 23-28, 2018. registration opens Feb 1! Open to pre-college (grade 6-12) and undergraduate college students. Young Artist Program participants will work closely with ECU piano faculty and guest artists in an intensive yet encouraging and supportive atmosphere to strive for the highest artistic standards.
