Welcome to East Carolina University's School of Theatre and Dance

The School of Theatre and Dance is one of the premier schools of its kind in the southeast, offering comprehensive and flexible programs.

In the School of Theatre and Dance, you can be a part of an intentionally small, high-quality student body of 233 declared students (23 intended students). This group works and plays (and almost lives) in the Messick Theatre Arts Center, a facility dedicated entirely to the study of theatre and dance. The region relies on the School to satisfy its appetite for top quality productions.

Located in Greenville, North Carolina, ECU is a leader in theatre and dance education throughout the Southeast. With Alumni such as Sandra Bullock (The Blind Side, Speed, Ms. Congeniality), Kevin Williamson (Writer/ Scream, Dawson’s Creek, Creator/Vampire Diaires), Beth Grant (The Rookie), Manley Pope (Rent: Broadway), Jeremy Woodard (Rock of Ages: Broadway) and Emily Procter (West Wing, CSI: Miami); people are quickly understanding why East Carolina is the perfect choice for furthering an education in theatre and dance.
